The face of medieval Bosnia

Archaeological excavation of necropolis in Divičani (near city Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was done in the 2015. Among 6 skeletal remains found in this necropolis, one was in stone sarcophagus which indicates person's noble status.

This skeleton was approx. 600 – 700 years old (14th – 15th century) as estimated on archeological data (sample is also sent to C14 analysis and we are waiting for results). No archeological data on person’s identity was available.

Anthropological and dental analysis estimated person's years at time of death (35-45 years old) and also person's gender (male) which is confirmed by genetic analysis (detection of Y chromosome at amelogenin locus).
